For early spring the afternoon air was still bitter cold, but it was what you'd expect for early in the season. The snow was melting and the smell of blooming trees along the street seemed to cover up the smell of the roads. Birds flew happily over the city, their calls joining in the many sounds of the city. The paths were covered in people, heading home after a hard day at work. Slipping out of the back seat of Lawliet's car, Sky looked out across the street to the Goldengate and with a small smile, she moved around to the car's drivers side, leaning against the car as she foldered her arms and looked at the drivers door.

After driving for a little bit, and the sun had been long since shielded behind a mass of nightfall clouds. After parking the car, and after Sky and Bianca had gotten out of the car, he yawned and stepped out too. Shutting the door behind him before moving over to Sky with a flick of his fingers in a signal to head towards the entrance and that he was right behind them. He wasn't a drinker but this place had good food. Even if it was just greasy fats. Heck, he didn't mind. Not like it made a change in his body type. Shooting a smile directed to Sky, he couldn't help but feel glad she'd wanted to come too, he really wanted her too. Even if he told himself he wasn't allowed to say anything about how he liked her, or make any actions to make that fact a clear sign in movement. She had a boyfriend, and even if Lawliet thought he was a big douche bag, he had to respect Toms rank to Sky, and act how it mattered. Putting his hand over her shoulder or holding her hand was extremely prohibited. And anything beyond that was completely out of question. He couldn't even really hug her, unless it was a friend hug which he was okay with. He just had to make due with a friendly hug and tell himself he could have made something more of it, if only she didn't have a boyfriend.
Lawliet didn't even remember having a Girlfriend, only that his friend Adam, otherwide known as 'Moose' told him pretty much eveyrthing there is to know about having a Girlfriend, and all the details. Grimacing at the memory of the specific little things in being romantic and beyond. {-o.o-}; Hurrying to the door to open it for Sky and Bianca he took in a breath as he watched Sky with bleak desparation in his sapphire eyes, leading on to the conclusion he was in total despair, and had been slightly since he discovered her and Tom were going out. Though news around the college was often quiet and the gossip was clean. No rumors. Moving his eyes to the inside of the restraunt he couldn't help much take a huge glance at how ran packed it was inside. Psh, ya, if we can even get a seat.

Sky smiled warmly at him, her hazel eyes shining brightly as she bounded after him, feeling happier than she had in a long while. With a thankful smile to lawliet as she slipped inside, looking around the busy cafe for somewhere to sit. Glancing around the cafe for anyone she knew, a small smile crossed her lips when she spotted two very familiar figures talking in a quiet side of the cafe. Tapping Lawliet on the shoulder and nodding to Bianca, Sky moved into the cafe towards the two men who were at least a meter away from anyone else and being completely ignored.
Running his fingers through his sandy blonde hair, Tom look at John with a sigh. 'Alright, I'll try,' he muttered, knowing full well that he should have thought about it before letting Tyler take control in the middle of the supermarket. John grinned his usual goofy grin before quickly finishing his tea and giving Tom a brief pat on the shoulder. 'That's a good boy, now, I should be getting back to helping Jack, I'll see you later Tom,' John said brightly, getting to his feet and brushing some of the crumbs of his brown pinstriped suit. With one last goodbye, John moved through the crowd almost running directing into Sky as she lead the two over to the table. 'Hey kiddo, I've got to go and incase your wondering, it's Tom not Tyler,' John said quickly, ruffling his daughters hair lightly before lightly pushing his way toward the door and dissapearing into the evening air.
Sky nodded her head quickly towards the table. 'Don't ask what that's about but That guy over there is an old friend of mine, only place we can sit really,' she said, loud enough for Bianca and Lawliet to hear. Turning back around and moving over to him, Sky tapped Tom's shoulder softly as she looked around, his arms tenced slightly, but he clearly relaxed, seeing it was just her. 'Been a while ain't it?' She said brightly, sitting down opposite Tom who just nodded, looking up to Lawliet and Bianca.

Not missing the warm glance Sky had given him, he kept reminding himself she was still off limits. As unbearable as it was. When both Bianca and Sky had entered the restraunt he went in behind them, and immediately he noticed how crowded it really was. There was no where to sit! Ah! he screamed silently to himself, as he whipped his head around akwardly checking for any open booths. Sky had started to talk to someone, and another man passed her. Listening, it might have been her father. A bit bewildered he watched as she sat down next to another person, clearly this was there one way ticket to eating anywhere with a seat. Sitting down, he grinned nervously and waved slightly to Tom, "Howdy." he smiled, a sort of greeting. Before patting the free space of the booth for Bianca to take a seat. Well, we got a seat but im still starving, Bring the dang food people! he thought with a chuckle, raising his head to peek over the booth for a waitress, it looked like they were going to wait a while. The waitresses were all extremely busy, glancing to Sky next to him. "We're going to starve i tell you! These people are all uber busy, we'll be here forever." he complained, "And if i don't get some food soon ill fade away to a shadow!"

Tom looked up from his coffee at Lawliet and gave a small chuckle. 'Don't worry mate, I was next on the list for them to come over to,' he said brightly, holding out a hand to lawliet. 'Name's Tom Garrett,' he said, grinning at Sky. 'I don't know why you have to use a part of both your names,' Sky muttered, shaking her head slightly. Tom gave her a slightly weird looked before turning back to Lawliet. 'I can't stick around for long, Tremain's got a job for me,' he said, leaning back against his chiar, his silver chain around his neck with the small tag making it clear that he was Narcolepsy sufferer, catching the light from one of the nearby lamps.
Sky sighed slightly, looking over towards the main counter before sighing and looking at Bianca. It was weird to have a boyfriend and a friend with the same name, and at time looking almost identical. She hoped lawliet wouldn't get the wrong idea on why they were friends. She couldn't help but smile at their first meeting, on the edge of the cliff overlooking the bay where he'd attempted to kill her but had ended up pinned on the ground with his head over the edge and sky holding him down with her foot against his throat and a gun pointed at him. Clearing her throat slightly she looked at lawliet, smiling slightly.

Relieved there was some good news in the day, Lawliet shrugged, he was satisfied. Though Tom. . .Ugh! Theres that name again! he thought with a crooked smile, shaking Toms hand warmly. "Lawliet Jay Fister, but basically just Lawliet." he raised and lowered his shoulders, glancing over to see if the Waitress was coming soon. He found it would be easier to talk and pass time by, and Tom. . .Just get over it!, said he had to go soon, a job he had to do. Letting out a somewhat loud sigh he turned to Sky, watching her with his blue eyes. Before he moved his rays to the top right corner of his head, as usual. In thought, he knew he'd tell himself the same old answer and finally just huffed up a noise and put his head down on the table once he'd taken his hand back and covered his head with his arms. He'd rather get some Take out.

Marcus looked around the busy kichen and seeing that all the waiter and waitresses were busy, he gave a small smile and walked over to the list on the wall. Looking over at number fourteen, he smiledm, seeing it was some of the most common customers here, so, grabbing his notepad, Marcus pushed his way through the crowd and over to them. 'Evening you lot, been a bit busy with work I see Sky,' he said warmly as he reached the table commenting on the cut across her cheek. pulling the notepad out of his belt he looked at the four at the table. 'What can I get you?' he asked.
Sky looked warmly at lawliet, finding it quite hard to pull her gaze away from him for some reason she wasn't quite sure of. Looking up at marcus as he came over, Sky grinned, blushing slightly. 'Just a fruit salad today thanks Marcus,' she said, looking back to lawliet and smiling warmly at him. 'Just a small chips to go thanks mate,' Tom said, looking at the cook then to his mug that was by now cold.

At the sound of the waiter Lawliet popped his head up, with a sigh and wide smile of the finally expression. Turning to Marcus he had already looked up what he wanted and named his orders off the top of his head. Blinking for a moment before speaking, "I'll have a steak, fries, a baked potatoe and a water, Thanks." he smiled, turning to Sky for a moment to blink away from her hazel rays. "Good, after this I'm going to go home and hit the sack, I already feel like I'm going to keel over. What about you guys?" he turned to peer around the table. His eyes saggy with exhaustion.[/blockquote]

Marcus smiled warmly at the four. 'Alright, I'll be back soon with your oder,' he said cheerfully like always before turning and making his way back around the cafe. Sky watched Marcus go, barely hearing Lawliet's question as he looked back to him. 'I need to go back to work, My uncle wants me back tonight, we picked up some sort of alien life form in the woods and need to check it out,' she said without thinking. Imediently biting her lip as she relised what she had said, looking down at the table to avoid Tom's questioning gaze she really did hope Lawliet hadn't heard what she'd said. 'I didn't think you were still working for Torchwood,' Tom said, quickly finishing off his drink as Sky looked up and give him look to tell him to shut up before looking back down at the table.

At the sound of the word Alien Lawliet turned to Sky with a weird expression, wondering if he'd heard her correctly since she was sitting directly next to him. He remembered asking what everyone else was going to do after they ate, and Sky had said her father and blah blah and found an alien life form in the woods. He didn't know wether to laugh or play along, glancing over to Tom with a rapid blink of his eyes before checking his watch again. "What? Aliens? um. . .I think i heard your wrong, I must be that tired." he admitted, just making up an excuse not to make Sky feel uncomfortable, turning to Tom more straight forward as he ran his fingers through his black hair; "Whats Torchwood?" he asked, curious and the faint yawn and blink of his blue eyes.

Sky blushed slightly, looking down at the table still before chancing a look up at him. Giving a deep sigh she glared at Tom as Marcus returned the with the meals. Taking the chance to get away, tom pushed a note into Marcus's hand to pay for all of them. 'Well, I'd better be going I've payed for you lot and sky I'll see you at pandora right?' he said quickly, grabbing his chips and getting to his feet. 'Yeah, see you Tom,' Sky mumbled, grabbing her fruit salad off the tray as Tom gave a small wave to Bianca and Lawliet before bounding through the crowd.
Sky looked at Lawliet, still blushing slightly. 'That's where I work, Torchwood and no, you didn't hear me wrong. Torchwood tracks down alien life forms and if they are causing trouble, sends them away or if they cause too much trouble and won't leave, kills them,' she said softly, getting her sthingy and quickly taking a mouthful of the salad.

Watching as Tom left rapidly, almost magically fast while grabbing his chips and bounding away. Lawliet turned to Sky, completely bewildered on what she meant, he heard her right he knew that no doubt about it, but did she realize exactly what she was saying? Moving closer to her, he leaned his face to hers. Looking into her eyes to see the look in them, and he even raised his hand up to check her temperature in case she might be sick and be hallusinating. But nothing was wrong, and he brought his hand to tenderly caress her cheek while moving her head to face him. "Sky, you said something about the woods. . . show me." he pleaded, hoping she wouldn't think he was just trying to be an ass. He blinked, struck by the first impression of realizing finally how close they had gotten, well how close he had gotten. He pushed away the feeling of getting hot, and moved his eyes away from hers to his food. He wasn't hungry anymore and called up for someone to bring him a to go box. Then he sat down and turned back to her with a slight hesitation.

Sky looked into lawliet's eyes for a moment, knowing that she should have just shut up and kept it quiet but how could she? For months she had wanted someone to know what she did, what she went through every single day of her life and Lawliet wasn't just dropping the subject like so many had when she had said something weird. 'You can come with me if you really want, but I'm not saying that it's going to be exactly a nice experience,' she said softly, still looking at him, even after he'd moved away. looking at the small plastic container, she closed the lid and shut her eyes for a moment before getting to her feet and looking at Lawliet once again. She knew that jack would do what he always did, they would get half way before the'd stop and she'd go ahead, either sent or wanting to and would end up in a deadly fight that would often give her yet another scar but, she knew that now he would have to find out, then maybe he would understand why she was always being called out of class.

He turned his eyes to his hands for a moment, thinking if he should accept for real and actually go with her to see some aliens and her family who she claimed were working under Torchwood and killed aliens if things got out of hand. He looked up to meet her eyes again, while she had been looking at him. He blinked, but held a serious expression. Turning to Bianca he did feel a bit guilty for leaving her out and then turned back to Sky; he was willing to go with her. to find out why she actually missed so many days and classes, it would all be made clear. And the wounds she had sometimes, he wanted to know it all. Standing up to peer down at her, he was silent for a moment. "Sky, I'll go. But if this is some kind of stupid joke or prank, i want to know so i can tell you something if it is." his voice was soft, trying to keep calm. If it was, he didn't want to say he wouldn't talk to her. He loved her almost truthfully, and not speaking to her was ridiculous. He would want to tell her he believed her, because he trusted her. He creased his eyebrows up, closing his lips as they stuck together, soft like babyskin.

Sky continued to look at him in silence, her hazel eyes glittering softly as she got to her feet, gingerly reaching out to hold his hand, giving it a light squeeze. 'I'm not joking, I wouldn't joke about something like this, believe me,' she said softly, nodding her head towards the door. 'If we are going to go than we need to go now, I need to check the coordinates back at base,' she said softly, looking down at her feet for a moment.
