James walked quietly into the cafe, families, couples and even just single people crowded the place for dinner. Now thats just bad luck, he wasn't too fond of crowded places. Seating himself next to the window at a table for two, he gazed outside, hoping she would come, hoping he wouldn't be embarressed by just sitting here while the night wandered away.
He wore the new clothes he had bought recently, the white singlet and the black jacket. Each of them already had a few tears in them but he was use to looking lesser then everyone else. And he wore his long demin jeans, these too had a few tears and scratches, but really, he didn't mind, as long as people saw him for who he was, not by the clothes he wore, he really didn't care.
Bringing his gaze back into the cafe he looked around, seeing nearly everyone with a bit of company. He ordered himself a small drink of coke and waited, hoping she was still going to come

Through the doors slipped the tall, thin figure of Emily, her longer wavey brown hair tied up in a pony-tail and her normally scrappy Jeans and Shirt replaced with a long sleeved Silky green dress. Emily glanced around quickly before she spotted James and moved over, her snowy white woollen coat over her shoulders as she gave a small smile. 'Hi James,' she said softly, sitting down opposite him.

James lit up when he noticed her, she looked so beautiful in the silky dress."Hey Emily" he said with a smile, his brown eyes glittering happily, meeting her eyes, she had come!
The waiter arrived with his drink, taking a small sip he nodded a thanks, "Did you want anything?" he took his wallet out of his pocket, to show he'd be paying for whatever they were going to get that night, after all, he was the one who had asked for her to come

Emily smiled at him, shaking her head briefly. 'Not right now,' she said softly, putting her bandaged hand on the table before saying, 'Scrap wasn't too happy to be put in the reserve with the other cubs.' Emily glanced around the reseraunt, takining off her coat and resting it over the back of the chair as she watched James for a moment before snapping her gaze to her scratched hands.

James looked at her bandadged hand with concern, with both his hands he clasped hers gently and smiled, looking into her eyes, "I'll have to have a word to him" he said with a glint of mischief in his eyes, "Man to man"
He took his hands away and started to gaze outside at the night sky, once again, the stars glittered overhead, his eyes illuminating with their stunning silver colour. He thought for a moment, wondering what kind of conversation he could start, wether about her, her job, his life.....even though it wasn't the most interesting

Emily smiled, nodding softly with a bright wild look in her leaf green eyes. She followed his gaze out the window as she gave a small sigh. She had never really had a lot of friends, spending most of her time with animals and she had grown quite used to spiders and snakes and loved all animals, but the only thing she was scared of was, well, shy of was other people.

"So what do you do to pass the time around here?" he asked her gently, his eyes meeting her's again, and the same thought flashed through his mind once more. He smiled, unable to suppress it and began thinking that maybe, next time they met she could show him around the Reserve, he had always wanted to know more about the majestic creatures that roames the plains and jungles of the world.
Taking another sip of his drink, he thought about his life, living them long years in the Orphanage, then living what was the hardest years of his life out on the busy streets, he had lost count of how many times he was beaten, and how many time he was sick and starved while he watched people in the Goldgate eat their lives away, it had only started to level out last year when he had built the shack at the far end of the beach, even still, it wasn't much.

Emily gave a soft sigh, looking back at him and almost blushing when just thinking about how she was actually out somewhere with another human, not talking about animals or doing something for the reserve. 'Well, I spend pretty much all my time in the reserve working, apart from Scrap and the other cats afternoon walks along the beach and through the woods. What about you, I don't think I have ever seen you out and about before,' she said.

James let out a small sigh and thought about what he does to pass time, it really depended on what he felt like doing."Well, I often go for walks up and down the beach or hikes around the place. At the moment I'm saving up for a surfboard so I can get one of them, really, I dont have much, I usually spend my time working. Occasionally I meet up with friends, but then again...."
He trailed off thinking, he didn't have too many friends, Sky was sort of his friend, along with Jethro and sort of Luke Sales. He sighed, that was true, he just did things, without thinking of them."Lately I've had to work on my Shack, I brought in a Terrier to the Shelter a few days ago but getting it was a problem". He sighed again and took another sip of his drink, instead of constantly looking away, he decided to look in her eyes, her beautiful leaf green eyes.......

Emily nodded distractedly, almost not listening as she watched him, her mind drifting away from her as she seemed to just get lost in his eyes as he looked at her. When she relised what had happened, she snapped back to current time, giving a quick few blinks before glancing out the window.

James have a small laugh as he saw her snap back into reality not too long after he did. Once again, the waiter came over, this time he ordered just a simple, cheap meal, Fish and Chips. He gazed at Emily again as he waited for her to order, "It's all on me so you dont need to order cheap"
He said with a wink to her, his brown eyes glimmered slightly with a feeling he had only felt once or twice before, but he masked it from her with a heap of mischief, when the food came, that was always when things got interesting, he laughed a little again to himself, thinking he can be as polite as if he was dining with the queen, or as messy like he once was when he lived in the street

Emily glanced at him and gave a small smile. 'Chicken and Salad please,' she said to the waiter before looking back at James with a faint smile across her face. With a gentle sigh she lent back slightly, her gaze driftly back out the window to the chilly night air outside.

James sighed, they.......he really needed to start some sort of conversation with her......"So how did you end up living here?" he asked gently, his gaze waving all over her body, but always ending back up at her eyes, they were so beautiful......

Emily smiled softly, lancing around before back at him, shrugging. 'I've lived here all my life, apart from the five years in the amazon and the year in africa.' she said with a small grin, sighing softly.

James smiled happily, she was lucky, her life seemed to be good."Your so lucky" he whispered with a small smile, looking at her in the eyes, venturing deep, not bothing to worry about how he was staring at her.
"I don't know much about my past......I ventured here when I was about eight....lived here since" he mumbled, his mind twisting with his past and how it came to his present
