A woman and a small dog desitned to be huge walked were walking around the lake, close to the bank but out of the reach of the icy black waters. They were alone, the sun's golden light swimming in the lake's water, making the surface and Jordan's eyes glitter in it's sharp light. The woman was wearing a pea-jacket cut just above her knees, with large black buttons. Her flaming red hair was draped over her shoulders, limp and straight like always. She sipped, once again, at a vinilla capachino, her mind wandering. Cookie gace a loud, ringing bark. "What is it, girl?' She said, turning around to look at whom ever was there...

The young man glanced at the small dog, his strange brown eys with blue flecks, confused. He had expected everyone to be inside...he often came here at this time of day...to think and to be alone. Then the girl turn around and the annoyance vanished. More than likely she had come here for the same reason. "I'm sorry..." he said, feeling bad for being annoyed at someone who had just as much right to be here as he did.
He glanced across the usually dark waters. Then dying sun was no reflecting in the lake, giving it a golden glow. The ripples made it all look like a complex dance. Coryn brushed his copper hair out of his eyes. "It's calming isn't is?" he murmurered.

Jordan smiled softly. Usually she would be supussious of people, grip for her gun. But this man felt different, safe almost. She looked at him, and the out over the glittering water, red on the black surface. It is, isnt it? She said, crouching to comfert Cookie, who was eyeing the man evily.Jordan had taught her beloved friend to be angry with anyone who came close, like herself (usually) was. She stood, gripping her coffee. She wanted to tell him her name, Jordan, not Samantha White. Samantha was someone else...not who she was. But that was not her true nature. I'm Sam. She said, tucking her hair behind her ear and smiling at him. She held out her hand for him to shake.

Coryn blinked, his eyes narrowing. Something seemed off about the way she was acting...as if it was that...just an act. He didn't comment. He bent down and held his hand out to the dog to sniff. He was typically very good with animals, they often trusted him.
"Well Sam...I am Coryn..." he said, suddenly feeling uncharactisicly self-concious. The greese stains seemed to grow larger, and his hair even messier. He grinned, and banished those feelings...what did it matter? He was usually good with controling his emotions.
His eyes went over the lake then back onto her face. "You come here often," it wasn't a question, it was just what he assumed. "I do...it's very relaxing..."
He had come here this time because a group of jerks had shown up at the shop...typical druggies...they'd taken to smoking around the shop...and nothing he did would scare them off. He blinked, then turned back to her, his face a mask. "What's her name?" he asked, glancing down at the dog.

Cookie blinked at the hand, now right infront of her nose. She looked at it with big brown eyes and snifed it, before deciding he was nice enough to lick. So she licked it, and proceded to prop her front paws up on him, mauling his face with puppy kisses.
Jord--no, Sam broke out in laugher as her puppy started to lick the skin off of Coryn, not really, of course. A bit of coffee spilt out of the cup and landed silently on the ground. The color rose in her cheeks, and her eyes sparled with laugher. I..am so...sorry! She said between giggles. She bent and scratched Cookie's ginger head. The dog then turned on her and started licking her. Coo...cooki...Cookie!! She laughed. Th large puppy had jumped on her, and she landed with a small 'thump' on the frozen dirt floor. She tried, but failed, to push the thirty-pound dog off, but shaking with laughter as she was, she was not able.

Coryn blinked, not sure if he was supposed to laugh or not, eventually those emotions took over, and he began to roar with laughter. As the dog, Cookie turned to...Sam he stood up and walked over to the dog. He gently grabbed the collar and the scruff and gently pulled the large puppy off. "She's big...must be a handful..." he chuckled, putting the puppy down.
He glanced at the red-haired girl then instantly looked away. "You ok?" he asked suddenly, staring intently at the dog. He eventually pulled his gaze back to see what she said in reply."

Jordan smiled as her laughter died away. She was still laying on the hard-packed dirt floor of the forest by the lake. Too quickly, she pulled herself up and brushed off the reminatents of the dirt specks, and pulled out a few dead leaves. "No, she's usually great. But she's going to be a big little puppy, isn't she?" She laughed. "She I'm fine, yes. are you?" She said, reaching up and pulling a leaf off of the shoulder of his jacket. She smiled and flicked it away. A cold breese started to blow, and as she held a little too strongly to the leash, Cookie started to chace blowing leaves, straining against the grip of her owner and giving a small whine.

Coryn laughed at the puppy. "She'll definately be big..." he sighed, staring at the lake. "I'm fine...it's gonna take more than an overgrown puppy to keep me down..." He grinned, now looking back at her. "So...Sam...what exactly are you doing out here so late?"
By now the sun had died, and the stars reflected in the light. He was curious, about almost everything at the moment. Everything suddenly seemed, unimportant...all his troubles...gone.

Jordan smiled, looking out over the water. Wind blew at her face, but only lightly, and it felt nice. Just getting away from life for a while...you know... She seemed lost in thought. Then, suddenly, she seemed more aware. The sun sets on everything eventually, dosent it, Coryn? She said. The gleeming, firey red ball of sun had dissapeered over the water, and suddenly everything was dark. Not exactly black, but dark. The horizon was still a pinkish color. Jordan's brown eyes glittered in the dim light, and her face seemed a bit sadder than before.

"I wish I could say it didn't..." muttered Coryn. He looked down. "I'm sorry...but yes...eventually...it does..." He stared at his feet, sadly. He knew this to be true...in more ways than one. His face grew bitter and sad as he thought of his mother, her sun had set earily. He glanced at the darkening skyline. "This may sound strange...but can you talk to me? I really need a distraction at the moment...that's why I usually come here...to distract myself with the lake...but..." he trailed off, realiziing he was rambling. He blushed and sighed, sitting down. "Sorry...but I feel like I know you from somewhere...and it...you know what...I'm just gonna shut up now."

I don't think you want to talk to me...but you can if you want to. Jordan said softly, looking up at Coryn with brown eyes. Cookie lay down on the ground, sencing the peacefull atmosphere. She squinted sadly, and looked over the water. I don't think thats possible. I move around a lot...i've been many different people... She said. She cringed at herself. She had killed so many people with her own hands. Taken grandparents, though killers themselves, from their grandchildren. Though it was a fact these were, in their own way, good deeds, Jordan couldn't help feel she had been a horrid person before; as she coudn't help feeling right now lieing to this man was a mistake...
