~~Doctor Temperance Brennan~~
The city's top forensic anthropologist walked, more like stumbled, into her room and threw her bag to the floor; she was exhausted. She looked around her apartment with a relieved look of wonder. She hadn't been here for over forty eight hours and had been longing for the quiet of her own home. She left her bad and went to run herself a hot bath.
Whilst it was running she bustled around putting on music and lighting candles. It wasn't for anyone but herself and she needed the chance to relax. She slipped into the hot bath with a sigh of relief, placing her head against the porcelain and closing her eyes.
She must've fallen asleep as when she glanced at the clock and hour had past. She climbed out, wrapping a huge fluffy white towel around her and padding into her bedroom.
Everything was in order and it made her so happy to see it. She pulled on her sloppy pajamas (which she wouldn't ever wear if she knew others were coming round) and brushed her hair until it shone. When she was done she grabbed a book and collapsed onto the sofa with a glass of wine. She read by candle light as soft music played in the background. She smiled, this was her idea of paradise.

It had happened again. Some idiot that deliver the post had put Doctor Brennan's mail in his mailbox again and now he had to take it to her so that hopefully, the issue could be resolved. John hauled himself up the nest flight of stairs, past his own apartment and up to the next floor before moving across to the correct door.
John supressed a sigh of rustration as he knocked on the door, the three letter in his hand as he loosed his grip on his overcoat.

Temperance sighed and pulled her silk dressing gown around her. She padded over to the door, not bothering to turn off the music and looke through the glass in her door (she never opened the door without looking on Booth's instruction), it was her neighbour, John Smith, she never talked to him that much except when thir mail got jumbled. She opened the door, running a hand through her auburn hair and smiled "Hello, John Smith isn't it?" her eyes betrayed no thought "Can I help you?"

John grinned, nodding as he held out the mail. 'Sorry to disturb you, mail got jumbled again,' he said brightly, even if his eyes did only show that he was not in the best move. He glanced behind him before at Temperance as he handed her the three letters. 'We really need to do something about that mail problem,' he sighed.

Even Temperance, who couldn't read people very well, knew something was up. She opened the door a little wider and the candles flickered "Thanks, do you want to come in for a drink or something?" she asked and smiled "You look as if you need one" her greeny blue eyes began to show a little light and compassion, they both lived alone and she knew nothing about his life...only he looked incredibly lonley.

John smiled warmly but shook his head, holding up a hand. 'Thanks for the offer, but I've got to go meet someone after,' he said thankfully, half regretting the invite but he knew that he had to meet Jack and Sky at the Cafe soon enough. 'I'd better go, but I'll drop by some time for that drink,' she said with a grin before turning and jogging back towards the stairs.

Temperance smiled and shut the door as he ran down the stairs, flicking through her new mail. She stopped at handwriting she noticed and opened it, it was from her father. That reminded her, she needed to visit him soon. She placed the letter on the mantle piece along with the two bills. Falling back onto the sofa, picking up her book and begining to read again but her mind traveling to John Smith who has seemed so lonley.
