Jack gulped slightly, unable to clear his head of the though that maybe, just maybe, she could actually like him, more than just a friend. He made up his mind, knowing deep inside that the chance was more than he actually believed and he was truly torn to kissing her properly or just leaving now. It was with a half-hearted choice of loosing his friendship or becoming more with Gwen than just friends and workmates.
Jack got to his feet and moved across to her, putting an arm against the wall to keep himself upright as he looked at her, moving his spare hand to her shoulder. He wasn't too sure if he should kiss her or not as he glanced around the room. 'Gwen, if I don't say this now I never will, I'll go if you want me to but first I have to tell you that ever since I first met you and you joined Torchwood, I've Loved You, And that isn't normal for me and I doubt no matter what happens that isn't going to change,' he said softly in her ear, moving his right hand up to her cheek to brush away the stray hairs before moving away and back towards the front door.

ever since I first met you and you joined Torchwood, I've Loved You The words spun around Gwen's head as they went deep inside her. "Wait" she said softly as he was leaving. She touched his shoulder and pulled him round to face her "I love you too" she said quietly, looking into his piercing blue eyes, able now their feeling were out in the open.

Jack just watched her, leaping on the inside but keeping a very calm and soft look on his face as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling Gwen close to him softly. 'I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to you,' he murmered softly in her ear, glancing up at the wall blankly for a moent before back at Gwen.

Gwen laughed quietly and murmured "You're whats got me though so much, if you go...I couldn't live anymore" she kissed his lips softly. Her eyes shone with hope and, for the first time ever, love. Her feelings were out and she felt she had nothing to hide anymore. She put her head on Jack's shoulder and closed her eyes, then she opened them. For a moment she saw Rhys standing in the corner of the room, his arms were folded and there was a small smile on his face like he was responsible. She blinked and he was gone, she wasn't sure if it was a hallucination or not.

Jack smiled softly before giving a soft digh, closing his eyes for a moment. He couldn't think of anywhere else he would rather be at this very moment. Jack opened his eyes and looked around the hall for a moment before gently letting Gwen go and taking half a step back just to look at her.

Gwen stood there and looked at him, dark hair, overcoat, nice body and those amazing blue eyes. It all seemed so surreal, her smile got wider and wider until she was laughing. Her dark eyes glowed as she placed her hands on her knees. She realised what and idiot she must look and straightened up, brushing her hair from her eyes.

Jack grinned, still watching her softly. 'Yeah well, I don't think I look that funny at this moment,' he said mockingly, his blue eyes glowing with love as he glanced at his watch. With a soft sigh he looked up at Gwen with a small smile. 'I'd better be getting back to the hub,' he said softly, looking at her softly.

Gwen smiled as she looked up but her voice was questioning "Do you spend all your time there?" she asked, it would be so lonley in the hub at night; especially with the weevils in their cages, roaring at anything and everything. Maybe he didn't sleep, it wouldn't surprise her. He seemed like nothing else on earth and she knew hardy anything about him; the main things were that he couldn't die and she loved him...he loved her as well.

Jack smiled softly, nodding sadly. 'Yeah, I have no where else apart from a big blue box at times but even then I can't stay there forever,'[/b he said with a comforting smile to her. 'I'll see you tomorrow,' he said softly, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before turning and moving swiftly out the door in silence.

There was a pause whilst Gwen thought "Are you sure you don't want to stay here?" she asked finally, it seemed the obvious thing to say in those circumstances, and she wanted him to. But she hoped she could put a lid on her feelings for tonight, sleeping with the boss had not been on her 'to do' list for the month.

Jack gave a small smile as he stopped in the doorway to look back at her. 'Nah, better go see the troublemaker of a best friend of mine anyways before he gets himself hit by a car or something,' he said, a thoughtful look across his face as he grinned and bounded out along the path.

Gwen smiled as she heard the door closed behind her, she got up and headed toward the drinks cabinet but at the ast second veered away. She headed back into the kitchen and put the lettle on, making herself some tea. She took her steaming mug into the sitting room and flopped onto the sofa, taking a long sip and switching on the TV.
